Medes’ 2600 year old fire temple uncovered in Oluz Hoyuk

AMASYA, Turkey – 2,600 year old Medes Fire temple has been uncovered by archeologist in Oluz Höyük.
Oluz Hoyuk is located in the Göynücek district of Amasya, Turkey.
The Medes were an ancient Iranian people who lived in the region of Media, which is now modern-day northwestern Iran.
They were a major power in the ancient Near East, playing a significant role in the history of the region from the 8th to the 6th centuries BCE.
They were reported to be a nomadic people who settled in the region of Media, which was bounded by the Zagros Mountains to the west and the Caspian Sea to the east.
