Fun lovers storm Italy for World skate games 

 

ITALY – Preparations are now in top gear ahead of the World Skate Games kicking off from Friday, September 6 to 22 in Italy.

Tagged  ‘festival of sport and youth’  the World Skate Games Italia 2024 offers a unique and unprecedented experience in which 12 sports on wheels come together in a whirlwind of breathtaking excitement, providing intense sensations to its diverse audience.

It will unite more than 12,000 people,  athletes and delegations, from different sports in one global event.

Among the disciplines that will ignite the public are  skateboarding, freestyle and scootering, the more adrenalin-fuelled ones and speed sports such as speed, skatecross, downhill and slalom.

The exciting team sports, rink hockey, inline hockey and roller derby, through to the much-loved sports in Italy figure skating.

The World Skate Games Italia 2024 will feature twelve World Championships within one big event that will involve four Italian regions: Lazio, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont.

Each event will be marked by the rhythm of music, an indispensable soundtrack that will enliven every competition in a mix of tricks, jumps, records and team games.

Fan Fests will accompany all races with entertainment, concerts and shows to unite athletes, fans and the entire local community in Pincio, Ostia, Roccaraso, Pescara, Montesilvano, Novara Rimini and many more.

The capital will be the open-air urban cluster of the WSG ITALIA 2024. The 3 special venues, Colle Oppio, Pincio and Ostia, will be the focus of the Skateboarding, Scootering, Roller Freestyle, Inline Freestyle, Skate Cross and E-sport competitions.

Roccaraso will host Inline Hockey; Montesilvano Speed Skating track, Roller Derby, Pescara the 100 m Speed, Pescara Montesilvano and Francavilla al mare the Open Inline Skating Marathon, Sulmona Speed Road; Chieti Inline Slalom; Tortoreto Inline Downhill Skateboarding Downhill and Street Luge;

Piedmont: Rink Hockey will be staged in Novara.  Emilia-Romagna: Rimini will be the stage for Figure Skating.
