Bobrisky: Board suspends senior officers in NCoS, NIS, Fire and NSCD

LAGOS – The Board of the Nigerian Civil Defence, Nigeria Fire Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS and the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS has suspended some senior officers following the viral online video by crossdresser and social media personality, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye better known as Bobrisky.
In a statement, Secretary to the Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed said the senior officers were suspended to enable the board carry out a thorough investigation into the allegations made by Bobrisky that he spent the six months imprisonment in a private apartment instead of NCoS facility after payment of about N10 million to some officers of the NCoS who took him to a private apartment where he spent the six months.
The affected officers are Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections, DCC in Charge of Maximum Security Custodial Centre, MSCC, Kirikiri, Lagos State; Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections, DCC in charge of Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Lagos.
Also suspended are ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, MSCC, Afikpo, Ebonyi State for allegedly accomplaying a convicted inmate out of the custodial centre to a location outside the facility.
The Board has equally suspended Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, Deputy Controller of Corrections, DCC in charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, Abuja for allegedly receiving monies on behalf of an inmate.
“The suspension of the officers is to allow for further investions on the various allegations while assuring that the outcome would be made public when concluded”, the board said.
