MUNICH – British icon Adele’s Munich concerts have drawn tens of thousands of international fans, with only half of the attendees of her first show coming from Germany, according to mobile phone data analysis by mobile provider O2 Telefónica.
Adele is set to perform 10 times in August in an arena built especially for her on Munich’s trade fair grounds. The stage features a 93-metre-long catwalk so the star can get closer to her fans.
On Friday, the British singer was set to perform in her third show.
The premiere last Friday drew a large number of fans, with some 10,000 British fans attending the concert, making them the largest international fan group according to O2 Telefónica.
Several thousand fans travelled from Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, while around 1,000 fans came from the United States.
Smaller fan groups travelled from even further to attend the concert, including from Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Canada, China and India.
A total of 730,000 spectators were expected to attend the extraordinary concert series between August 2 and 31, the only European concerts the 36-year-old will give this year.
