LAGOS, Nigeria – The glitz and glamour of the Nigerian entertainment industry don’t always guarantee fairytales endings for its celebrities when it comes to marriages.

In fact, some of the country’s most beloved stars have experienced the bitter sting of failed marriages. From heart-wrenching divorces to messy public splits, these celebrity crashes have captivated the public, reminding us that fame and fortune don’t shield anyone from the complexities of life.

Let’s take a depressing look at some Nigerian celebrities who couldn’t make their marriages work.

Mercy Johnson and Henry Okoli:

Mercy Johnson, the award-winning actress, married her heartthrob Okoli in 2011, and it seemed like a match made in heaven. Their glamorous wedding was the talk of the town, but within a few years, the marriage started hitting rock bottom. Mercy Johnson  remarried  Prince Odianosen Okojie in 2011 and the union is blessed with four lovely children. The marriage is waxing stronger based on implicit trust the couple place on each other.

Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill:

Tonto Dikeh, the fearless actress and singer, married businessman Olakunle Churchill in a lavish ceremony that left many awestruck. However, their marriage turned sour quickly, with allegations of domestic violence, infidelity, and even child neglect flying around. The lovely soft-spoken Nigerian actress, got married to the British-born businessman for twelve years and were blessed with one child.

The couple divorced in 2011 due to allegations of adultery.  Since the divorce,  Roderick has remarried, while Kate Henshaw has moved on with her live as well living well and trying to mentor Nigerians and she has been role model for many young Nigerians.
