LAGOS, Nigeria – The elegant stallion, songstress of unparalleled proportion, Onyeka Onwenu is dead.

She died after a brief ailment. She earlier slumped at the birthday party of Stella Okoli and was taken to hospital for medical attention.

She was 72. Born March 17, 1952, Onyeka Onwenu is the last songstress of her generation that blazed the train in music.

Among her compositions were Iyogogo among others.Her last work was the book, My Father’s Daughter”
