NIMC rolls out logo design competition for pupils

ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC  has rolled out a national competition for pupils requiring participants to design a new logo for the commission.

The competition which is open to pupils in primary, secondary schools and higher institutions in the country is programmed to be part of efforts to commemorate  the 6th National Day of Identity, with the theme, “Digital Public Infrastructure, enabling access to services”.

Participants according Head Corporate Communications, NIMC, Mr. Kayode Adegoke  are required to design a NIMC logo, with notes explaining the concept behind the design.

The note to the concept should not exceed 200 words in the following order:

National Identity Number

Name of School/Institution, including class or level

The inspiration behind the concept

Advantages of the logo over existing one

Graphic style and typography

Advertisement

Colours, etc.

In a statement on X, NIMC image maker said there are no age limit to the competition, and that submission should be in PDF, Jpeg or PNG format. The deadline for submission is Friday August 16, 2024 at 4pm.

Adegoke added that NIMC staff are exempted from the competition which also allows for joint efforts. He said NIMC is looking for originality and will go to any extent to verify works submitted for the competition.

He said the winners will be invited to Abuja for the presentation of award by Director General  during the 2024 ID Day coming up Monday, September 16, 2024.

NIMC said all completed entry  should be forward by email to  idday2024@nimc.gov.ng
