COTONOU – The Coach Finidi George Eagles tutored side on Monday evening wobbled in an unprecedented manner losing woefully to the minors from Benin.
The Super Eagles who were not supper in any aspect of the encounter shot into the lead in the first half in the 27 minutes through Rapheal Onyedika but where unable to hold on to the lead.
The Benin Republic boys took advantage of the poorly coordinated Nigerian side and equalised through Jodel Dossou in the 37th minutes.
But they were not satisfied, they came again in injury time before the close of first half to make it 2:1, courtesy, Steve Mounie, putting their team ahead of the favourite and much rated Nigerian side.
They held on to the goal margin until the referee blew the whistle in the CAF qualification encounter to end this terrible encounter.
