Gaza war: Gunman attacks American Embassy in Lebanon

AWKAR, Beirut, Lebanon –  A gunman of Syrian origin has attacked the American embassy in Awkar, Lebanon.

Aljazeera reported that a gun battle ensured for 15 minutes between the gunman and the security personnel at the embassy before he was overpowered.

We gathered that the attacker who has been arrested with injuries wore a shirt marked ISIS but no group has come out to claim it carried out the attack.

So far, the gunman has been transferred to a hospital in Lebanon for treatment. Security forces are already investigating circumstances that led to the attack.

However, the area has been prone to massive protest by anti-Israel war in Gaza, with many throwing molotov cocktail on security officers mounting the embassy.

But this is the first time that gunmen will be attacking American Embassy over its policy on Israel, viewed by man to have enabled unprecedented attack and genocide in Gaza.

So far over 56,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched an attack on Gaza, a quarter of them children for the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas.
