Portable: How G-Wagon deal went sour
LAGOS, Nigeria – Fast rising Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable is in the news once more after his arrest a few days ago for his indebtedness to a car dealer for a fairly used G-wagon.
The dealer he bought his G-Wagon from had arrested him for failing to liquidate his debts. While it is not criminal to owe, the musician made a mess of himself when he attempted to scale the fence after his assailant presented his warrant of arrest.
Now out of police custody, perhaps after an undertaking to pay, the musician took to social media to unveil the true character of the car dealer.
He only stopped short of branding the car dealer a fraud. After acknowledging that it is only the rich that buys car, he said he had paid N13.5 million over time for the G-wagon and spent another N3.5 million on the car he bought.
Portable, who was not very clear on the reason he spent N3.5 million on a car he bought from a dealer, said the dealer introduced him to five mechanics and one middleman.
He alleged that their preoccupation was nothing but to continue to sap him out of his meager resources hence his inability to pay his debt.
