KANO, Nigeria – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has formally reinstated the deposed Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano following repeal of the law which bulkanised the emirates into five distinct areas.
Recall that Sanusi was deposed in 2020 by the former governor of the state, Mr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who went ahead to balkanise the state into five emirates.
But the enabling law has now been repealed and signed into law by Abba Kabir Yusuf.
While signing the new law, the governor declared:
“After signing the new Kano Emirate council law at the Government House today, I hereby announce the reinstatement of HRM Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano State.
Meanwhile, Emir Sanusi was earlier today at the Kano State Government House where he was presented with his appointment letter as the Emir of Kano.
