OIC Secretary-General, US express condolences on the death of Iranian President and Foreign Minister

TEHRAN – The Secretary General of the Organisation for Islamic Cooperation, OIC, Mr. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha and the United States have expressed their condolences over the death of President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi and his Foreign Minister, Amir-Abdollahian and other members of the delegation.
President Raisi died on Sunday when his helicopter crashed in the mountains, while traveling to Tabriz City for the launching of an oil project.
In a statement, the United States expressed condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, and other members of their delegation in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran.
“As Iran selects a new president, we reaffirm our support for the Iranian people and their struggle for human rights and fundamental freedoms”, the statement said.
Secretary-General OIC, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha also offered heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Government and people of Iran over the death of H.E. Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Foreign Minister Mr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian and their accompanying delegation.
He prayed to Allah to shower them with mercy and forgiveness, to admit them to paradise, and to grant their relatives the fortitude to bear the loss.
