The Princess who has been under attack by the British media weeks before now made the revelation in a video message to her subjects.
She speaks more on how she realised she had cancer. She said in January, she underwent major abdominal surgery in London and it was thought that her condition was not cancerous.
“The surgery was successful, however tests after the operation showed it had cancer deposits. My medical team recommended that I undergo preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment”, the Princess said, adding that the news came as a huge shock to her and her family.
“This of course was as a huge shock, William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this agony for the sake of our young family. It is taking me time to recover from my major surgery in order to start my treatment and it is taking us time to explain things to my children that I am going to be okay.
“As I said to them, I am getting stronger everyday by focusing on those things that will help me heal. Having Williams by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.
“We hope that you now understand that as a family we need to time to spend together in privacy, while I continue my treatment”, she appealed.
Reacting to the incident, British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak said his thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, Prince of Wales, the Royal family and in particular her
three children at this difficult time.
“The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the whole country as she continued her recovery.
“She has shown tremendous bravery, with her statement today”, the PM said, adding that she has been subjected to intense scrutiny and has been unfairly treated by certain sections of the media around the world and on social media in recent times.
“ When it comes to matters of health, like everyone else, she must be afforded the privacy to focus on her treatment and be with her loving family.
