GAZA -Hamas, the armed resistance, fighting for freedom of Palestine has laid down some conditions which must be met before it will settle for negotiations for release of about 137 Israelis and foreign captives held within its control in Gaza ans return of displaced people.

Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said in a statement that the Israeli Defence Forces IDF must withdraw from Gaza in addition to permanent ceasefire before Hamas will go into negotiations for release of the captives.

Hamas issued the statement following late call by Vice President Kamala Hamas for six week ceasefire and release of all the remaining captives, a development many see as hypocrisy after the U.S  vitoed about three resolutions calling for ceasefire in Gaza.

“Despite the killing and genocide against our people, the enemy has not achieved any of its goals and its image is eroding day by day”, he said.

According to him, Hamas worked very hard to reach an agreement that would stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip and contribute to the entry of aid.

He said that “over the past two days, we presented the movement’s vision and position on the proposal presented to us by the mediators regarding reaching an agreement

“What the enemy failed to achieve on the battlefield, he will not achieve at the negotiating table”, he said, adding “our response to the proposal included conditions including a ceasefire, complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and the return of the displaced.

“We will not allow the negotiation process to be open without a horizon while the aggression against our people continues

“The enemy will not take advantage of his political machinations for any gains that he failed to achieve in the field

“The flexibility shown by the movement in the negotiations out of concern for the blood of our people is matched by a determination to continue resistance

“The “israeli” aggression reveals to the world the extent of brutality against our people, our land, and our legitimate rights

“Any prisoner exchange will not be achieved before all conditions for resistance are secured, and negotiations will not continue without a horizon

“The “israeli” occupation and the American administration are determined to move forward with the war of extermination despite the decision of the International Court of Justice”, the Hamas leader said.

He explained that airdrops of aid only meet a small amount of the needs of our people in the Gaza Strip

“Our Arab and Islamic countries must move seriously to stop the genocide against our people

“We call on the people of our nation to work seriously and exert effective pressure in order to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip and save our people from death.

“There will be no exchange of prisoners until after the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

“We call on Guterres to dismiss the UN employee who submitted a false report alleging that the resistance committed sexual violence on October 7.

“israel” is the one obstructing reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip

“The American administration does not exert any pressure on the occupation during the negotiation process for a ceasefire in Gaza

“The course of israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip is based on targeting civilian institutions

“The health sector in the Gaza Strip was almost completely out of service due to “israeli” targeting.

“If the conditions for resistance are not met, the prisoner issue is not on the table

“It is a political farce for America to support Israel’s efforts to stop the fighting for only a period of weeks and then resume it again”, Hamas said.
