South East: Low generation responsible for poor power supply – EEDC

ENUGU, Nigeria – Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has stated that the current power supply in the South East is due to low energy generation.
In a statement, Head Corporate Communication of EEDC, Mr Emeka Ezeh said the poor power supply currently experienced by customers across the South East is beyond the company.
According to the statement, the low energy generation has resulted into a drop in power supply and availability energy.
EEDC appealed to its customers to bear with the organization.
According to the statement, the development has resulted in low generation, leading to a reduction in the quantum of daily megawatt hour (MWH) of energy allocated to distribution companies nationwide, thereby impacting the quality of service to its customers.
“We understand the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding as it is beyond us,”
“We can only distribute what is allocated to us” it stated.
According to the statement,efforts are being made by the various stakeholders in the power sector to address this issue, and they hope this yields positive result so that normal distribution would return.
