Impact Academy to empower 5000 Anambra Youths through digital skills

AWKA, Anambra, Nigeria- A Non-Governmental Organization NGO in Anambra State Hi- Impact Choice Limited has commenced the process of empowering 5000 youths through digital skills.
The Chief Executive Officer CEO of Hi- Impact Choice Limited, Impact Academy Amb. Bright Alexander Nwakama made the disclosure in Awka, Anambra State capital on Thursday.
According to him, the Impact Academy is majorly concerned about lifting youngsters out of poverty through digital skills in the state .
“Impact Academy is on the project of Anambra digital programme to empower 5000 Anambra youths through the learning of digital skills. After training we shall give them employment in our partnering organisations to work ” he said .
Nwakama said that the digital skills training is free as Impact Academy has partners who are sponsoring the trainings.
According to him, the trainings shall be comprehensive and the participants will start from the basic to advance level of video editing, website design, cyber security and others.
He also disclosed that the programme will run in batches of three months each.
“Apart from giving the youths the digital skills, we will place them in various organizations where they will work and make money according to the level of their skills. We partner with Amazon and Microsoft Excel who give international certifications after graduation. There is no place you will go with our certification without being recognized. It has both international and Nigeria certification ” he said.
He also stated that Anambra State government is aware of the programme but not one of the partners. According to him, the Ministry of Education and Information and Communication Technologies ICT have given approval to the programme based on its international and Nigeria acceptance.
He said, it does not want government partnership because Impact Academy wants to run the programmes steadily and continuously without interference.
Nwakama further said that programme is opened to all youths resident in Anambra state and it is going to be physical training.
According to him, online training may not be good because a starter will find it difficult to cope with the rigour of trainings. He said the Impact Academy will open training centres in all the local government councils of the state to enable interested youths to attend training physically.
The programme is for youths between the ages of 16 to 30 years and those above with the capacity to cope with rigour of training. He urged those who want to take the advantage of trainings to improve to come personally for registration.
The CEO of the organisation, also appealed to individuals and organisations who wish to sponsor the programme to come up and let the Anambra youths have digital skills for economic empowerment.
