Ehie Edison emerges speaker River State House of Assembly

 

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria – The River State House of Assembly has elected former  House Majority Leader, Ehie Edison as Speaker of the house.

He was elected as a fall out of the power tussle to remove governor of the state, Mr. Siminalaye Fubara.

He has been the main man fighting against the clique loyal to former governor of the state and now Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike.

The Speaker has large number of 32  members behind him against the others who initiated the move to remove the governor.

Ehie Edison was elected shortly after Martin Amaewhule was impeached as speaker.
