A statement read by his defence lawyer said: “I deeply regret what I did and would do anything if I could undo it.”
On March 18, the 21-year-old and his brother were at the fair when a fight with a 31-year-old broke out.
In the course of the altercation, the accused allegedly stabbed the victim in the heart, killing him. He is charged with murder.
The defendant says he drank a lot of alcohol before arriving at the fairground. Therefore, he could only remember the incident in fragments, the statement said.
After the bloody crime, the 21-year-old fled the scene. Four days later, after a public search, he turned himself in to the police.
