Big 5 Construct Nigeria hosts international companies from 25 countries to tap into lucrative prospects in Nigeria’s construction market

LAGOS – Nigeria is currently home to major construction and infrastructure projects, including the Abuja Millennium Tower, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Eko Atlantic and Badagry Deep-Sea Port, representing healthy activity in the built environment.

Supporting this upswing in the industry, Big 5 Construct Nigeria, returning for its 3rd edition from 5-7 September 2023 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos will unify the full spectrum of the construction value chain, responding to the market’s substantial demand for innovative products and solutions.

Organized by dmg events, a leading international events organizer, Big 5 Construct Nigeria is the largest construction industry event in the country, connecting local and international construction stakeholders to empower new ways of collaboration, project innovation and using the latest in construction techniques and technology. Leaders from the nation’s construction space including Sana Group, JMG Limited, Quantum Steel Nigeria, Wewood, etc, will showcase industry excellence as well as innovative and progressive products and services.

Over 140 exhibitors will showcase the best in building materials and concrete in addition to construction technologies and cutting-edge innovation at the event, which will feature four country pavilions, namely China, Austria, Türkiye, and Egypt. “At the fully sold-out event, we have been able to bring together the best of what each country has to offer in terms of construction products, services, and expertise,” Greenish added.

For the first time, renowned brands such as Saint-Gobain, a leader in light and sustainable construction products from France; Germany’s MASA, specializing in the design and production of plants and machinery for the building materials industry; and BAUER, a leader in construction & machinery manufacturing; Abumet/Julius Berger, a provider of aluminium and glass solutions; and Savvytech, an engineering services and procurement specialist representing Grove cranes, a world leader in mobile cranes from Nigeria will be at the event.

“Among international participants from other countries, Chinese companies are set to make a significant impact at this year’s Big 5 Construct Nigeria. A stronger participation by these companies coincides with China’s ambitions to enhance its footprint within the nation’s construction market,” Greenish noted. Some of the companies to expect include Ningbo Holden Cable, supplier of electronic wires and cables; Tianjin Sincere Import and Export, which deals in steel and galvanized steel pipes; and Wenzhou Uyee, light switch and electrical socket manufacturer.

Throughout the three days of the event, visitors will also engage in 26 CPD-certified industry talks, which will feature a series of keynotes, panels and presentations under the themes of Technology, Project Management, Architecture & Design and Facilities Management. The new Industry Talks theme of Cost & Commercial Management will address cost escalation in commercial contracts. A high-profile line up of 35 speakers, including subject matter experts, industry leaders and practitioners will headline the three-day talks programme.

During the upcoming event, OSHAssociation is set to conduct a Construction Safety Workshop, which will be opened by HRH Dr. Amb. Aderemi Olusegun, FOSHA, Regional President – OSHAssociation who will deliver the welcome address. Attendees will have a chance to understand the key aspects of using safety technology to drive inspection in construction sites as well as the role of safety best practices towards zero fatalities in the industry at the workshop. Engr. Laolu Oguntuyi, FOSHA Chairman for Lagos State Chapter, OSHAssociation Nigeria will also share insights during the workshop.
