Wagner chief Prigozhin buried in St. Petersburg
ST. PETERSBURG – Yevgeni Prigozhin who died last week when his private jet crashed in St. Petersburg has been buried.
He was buried at the Porokhovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg in the presence of his family and friends under tight security.
“Only relatives and friends have been admitted to the farewell ceremony for Yevgeny Prigozhin, in accordance with the wishes of his family,” a family source said.
“Those who wish to say goodbye can visit the Porokhovskoye cemetery”, Prigozhin press service said on social media.
There have been speculation concerning circumstances surrounding his death, with many pointing their fingers at the direction of President Vladimir Putin following recent rebellion when Prigozhin marched on Moscow, followed by scathing remarks by Putin that the rebels will pay for their action.
Recall that the flight recorder of the jet has been located to assist ongoing investigation into circumstance surrounding the crash which killed all 10 people on board.
