Ter Stegen extends contract with Barcelona
MUNICH – Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has extended his contract with Barcelona until June 2028, the Spanish club said on Friday.
The new deal includes a buy out clause of €500 million ($540.6 million).
“We have now another five years and we hope they will be good ones,” ter Stegen said.
“At the end of the day, it’s a combination of many things, which is why I made the decision I did: We like the city, we like the club and the people treat us with a lot of respect. We feel very comfortable,” he said also referring to his family.
Ter Stegen joined Barcelona in May 2014 from Borussia Mönchengladbach and has since made 379 official appearances for the club. That figure places him in fourth place on the all time list of appearances for Barça goalkeepers.
