Endsars: Soldiers killed 103 youths at Lekki toll gate – LASG

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led Lagos State Government which denied killing anybody during the EndSARS protest and later said on CNN that only two people were killed has finally owned up that soldiers he deployed to the scene killed 103 youths who were protesting with Nigerian flags at the Lekki toll gate.
The unarmed youths were protesting police brutality and at the same time agitating for better welfare condition for the Nigeria police force when Sanwo-Olu ordered soldiers to the tollgate who opened fire on the youths, killing dozens.
The soldiers killed them and delivered them to Sanwo-Olu who has kept the bodies from public glare for two years and eight months.

The Lagos State Government made the revelation in a leaked letter addressed to Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health signed by Director General in the ministry, Mr. Onafowote Fatai Idowu.
The letter has the subject: ” No objection to mass burial of 103 the year 2020 endsars victims.
The letter alluded to another letter penned by the PS dated July 13, 2023 with reference no. LSMH/G/NS/013-1/23 in respect of the above subject matter.
“Following our review of your letter and the document attached, we note the following: Mr. Governor’s approval; minutes of ministerial board tender board meeting; procurement planning committee; sign off
“Following review of your request and based on the information provided there in, the agency has no objection to award of contract to Messrs TOS Funerals Ltd at a total cost of N61, 285, 000 only for the mass burial of 103, the year 2020 endsars victims.
The letter directed the PS to make necessary deductions of taxes.
