WASHINGTON – The United Nations, UN has receipt of correspondence from Russia confirming suspension of the Grain Deal that has kept prices of grains at at very low price in Europe, United States and all over the world.
The UN said that receipt of the correspondence formerly ended the Grain Deal on Monday, July 17, 2023.
We however gathered that the last permit for the passage of grain consignment from Odessa through the Bosphorus was issued on June 28, 2023.
The UN spoke just as President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that until the last moment, he made efforts to save the grain deal.
Russia decided to suspend the deal following failure by the UN to fulfill its own side of the deal to allow export of its agricultural products and fertilizers to Europe and other countries.
Russia also made it clear that it will return to the deal if those putting obstacle in the deal sea reason to match words with action by fulfilling the its side of the grain deal.
