Israel raids Judea, Samaria, arrests 15 suspects, neutralise explosives

SAMARIA – The Israeli Defense Forces, IDF, Special forces and Israel Border Police forces have conducted counterterrorism activities in Judea and Samaria and arrested 15 persons, while about ten explosives were uncovered and detonated.
“During a counterterrorism operation overnight, IDF and Israel Border Police forces operated in Nur Shams camp to neutralize explosive devices and apprehended wanted suspects.
“During the activity, the security forces located and neutralized 10 explosive devices, apprehended a wanted suspect and questioned suspects”, the IDF said in a statement.
In addition, the IDF said exchanges of fire took place in the area, while suspects hurled explosive devices at the forces, who responded with live fire.
“Hits were identified. The forces apprehended 15 wanted suspects in the towns of Beitut, Bayt Kahil, Dura, Al Mughayyir, Qatanna and Tapuach.
“In the town of Beitut, the forces located and confiscated a handgun along with weapon parts. During the activity, suspects hurled rocks at the security forces, who responded by firing into the air.
“During the forces’ exit from the town of Qatanna, suspects hurled rocks at the forces, who responded with riot dispersal means.
“Additionally, in the town of Beit Ummar and the city of Bethlehem, a wanted suspect was apprehended, and the forces located and confiscated military equipment along with additional weapons.
” Furthermore, suspects fired fireworks at the forces, who responded with riot dispersal means.
“During the activity in Aqabat Jabr camp, a violent riot was instigated, during which suspects fired at IDF soldiers, who responded with riot dispersal means.
“The suspects and weapons were transferred to security forces for further processing”, the IDF said.
