LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood actress, Uche Maduagwu has revealed that she was molested by a Catholic priest her teenage years, specifically at age of 14.
She did not mention the name of the priest but said the incident affected her so much that she decided to withdraw and stopped attending the church.
She said that so many kids are currently going through same ordeal daily but that the #church always tries to cover up the incident.
Uche Maduagwu is of the view that the government of Nigeria and the Pope need to look into incidents of abuse in the Catholic church.
The Nollywood actress said that though she is now in her late thirties, but that each time she looks back at what the priest did to her in his office, she weeps.
“ I will never forget when I was molested by a priest at age 14, this was why I stopped going to #Catholic church when I grew up . So many kids are going through this daily but the #Church always try to cover it up.
“Government of #Nigeria and the #Pope need to look into this. I am in my late 30s but every time I look back at what he did to me in his office, I weep”, Uche Maduagwu said.
