KIEV – The Russian Aerospace Forces intensified their attacks on targets in Kharkov,  Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporozhyze with drones in overnight strikes, as forces itch towards Kiev but it appears the counter offensive  is not working as anticipated.

Belarus reported shooting down Ukrainian drones as Russia  uploaded videos of is forces destroying NATO armoured vehicles in the Zaporozhye and Sumy region.

But Ukraine believes it is moving ahead and taking areas previously occupied by Russia just as Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation(NATO), says Ukraine is making headway and commended the bravery of the Ukraine forces as NATO prepares to train Ukrainian pilots to man fighter jets supplied by NATO allies.

But as reports mount that Ukraine is suffering defeats on the frontline as a result of shortage of weapons, Japan is reported to be planning to deliver 155mm artillery shells through the United States to Ukraine for its counteroffensives according to Bloomberg, while Norway and Denmark may transfer additional 9,000 artillery shells to Kiev to strengthen its counter offensive.

Meanwhile in a video broadcast, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainians owe their lives to those fighting for independence. “ I thank everyone who is fighting and working for our victory. I am especially grateful to everyone who is currently fighting in the east and south of our country, opening up strategic space for Ukraine, space for movement to victory.

“I thank those who are now on the offence and on the defensive, who are storming the occupiers positions and repelling their attacks. Thank you all, warriors for your bravely for your resilience and for every meter of progress”, he said.
