APGA Vice Chairman wants Otti to concentrate on governance, not probe
UMUAHIA, Abia – Vice chairman,Abia North of All Progressives Grand Alliance chieftain in Abia State, Hon. Uchenna Emmanuel Akaeme has called on the governor of the State, Dr Alex Otti to concentrate on governance in order to succeed.
Hon. Akaeme made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in Umuahia Abia state capital.
According to Akaeme, his call came following several allegations from various groups accusing governor Otti’s aides of exceeding their boundaries in the discharge their duties.
“You will recall that there has been rumbles in various ministries, departments and agencies where civil servants were removed and new ones installed against the civil service rules” he said .
Hon. Akaeme further noted that setting up of a panel of enquiry to look into the activities of the immediate past administration would amount to colossal waste of time and lean resources of the state.
He urged governor Otti to go ahead and start fulfilling his campaign promises which include timely payment of salaries and clearance of the backlog of salaries, pensions and gratuities owed to workers in the state.
