Anambra CP dismisses security threat, urges electorates to obtain PVCs

AWKA, Nigeria – Anambra State Police Commissioner Mr Echeng Echeng has allayed fears of insecurity ahead of the 2023 general elections, urging the public to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards PVCs and cast their votes.
Echeng who disclosed this through the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga during the official inauguration and National Convention of the Ultimate Business Women And Farmers Association of Nigeria UBWFAN noted that the command is battle ready to withstand any form of lawlessness during the election.
“We know that there is no perfect society but given the level of readiness of the command we are better emboldened to check mate incidents of insecurity in Anambra state”
“I urge you all to go and obtain your PVCs and perform your civil responsibilities as law abiding citizens of the country” he said.
He further admonished the women to endeavor to train their children both the boys and the girls, contending that good home up bringing is the flagship of crime fighting in the society.
Speaking earlier the Chairman of the occasion Chief Leo Nkameme said that gone are the days when women are relegated to the kitchen adding that women abound in all spares of human endeavor and have been confirmed to have contributed their best to the socioeconomic development of the society.
National President of the Association Hon Nkiru Nwagbo said that the body has developed programs to provide care for the vulnerable women including widows and those with different forms of disabilities.
Nwagbo further explained that the association has empowered women in at several levels which has changed their mindset about life and it’s challenges.
Similarly the National Patron of UBWFAN , Prof Mrs Chinyere Okunna described the woman organization as one that would make far reaching impact in the growth and development of the women and the society in general.
