QATAR, UAE – Tunisia, one of the African teams in the Qatar 22 FIFA World Cup has crashed out of the tournament after beating France 1-0 in the very crucial encounter at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.
The Tunisian had hoped that a win against France will take them into the round of 16 if Denmark beats Australia but the reverse turned out to be the case as Australia defeated Demark, 1-0 in that encounter.
It was a very rigorous game many thought France would win, even though the team was already through to the round of 16 game in the tournament. But a very tactical Tunisian side came into the game with a lot of determination and played France like any other team.
The goal did not however come in until the 58th minute when Wahbi Khazri found the back of Frances’ net with his left foot to put his team ahead.
France struggled to equalize but it was to no effect until injury time, the 98th minutes, when Antoine Griezman found the back of the net but it was disallowed after video footage VAR showed that the scorer was offside.
