The man that defied slaughtering by suspected kidnappers in Lagos
LAGOS, Nigeria – The familiar refrain, Lagos is very safe may longer stand the test of time following reports of suspected bandits from the north who are lurking around Lagos to unleash mayhem on Nigerians.
One of those survived the attack simply because has fortified himself with traditional charms against attacks by knives and daggers related his experience after he was picked from the highbrow Lekki Phase 1 bus stop on the Lekki-Epe expressway.
The young man who did not identify himself, see video here was wounded in his face and spat coagulated blood in quick succession as he records the VIDEO.
“They took me to Adeniji under bridge, they brought me out and they started using knives, cutlasses and daggers. They tried to cut me but they saw that the stabbing attempt and slashing on my throat was not entering me. Three of them held my neck, two of them held my hands to the back and they put knife in my neck trying to slaughter me, I heard their leader saying in Hausa that they should lie me down and use their booths to crush my head”, he said, adding that his assailants were wearing military uniform at the time of his attack.
“About three of them were wearing army uniform”, he said, adding that about 6 of them held my legs and hands down, two of them were using their booths to hit my head, face and nose, they wanted to knock me out.
“After some time I realized I was getting dizzy and was about to faint. So I reached out to my hand bag on the floor, they did not notice it, I took out my knife with my right hand and started waving it in different direction, and it cut one of them in the stomach, his intestine gushed out, one in the neck and the other in eye. And their leader started telling that sha you have gotten the remaining ones who are asleep let them carry them and go and deliver”, he said
The young man who complained of internal bleeding said he pitied the other eight passengers in the same bus that have been charmed to fall asleep.
“My pity is about 8 other passengers they carried”, he said, warning Nigerians to beware that the danger is now here in Lagos.
Speaking on the incident, Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin said the Lagos State Police command is aware of the video which has been making the round about the presence of criminal elements in the Lekki area of Lagos.
He said a thorough investigation has commenced and that the command will leave no stone unturned towards ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Lagos.
“All human and material and operational resources have been duly and optimally deployed to achieve this. We appreciate Lagosians for always saying something when they see something. We encourage more of this. Together we will keep Lagos safe for all and sundry”, he said.
