DOHA, UAE – Despite the resilience and a well-coordinated play, the Brazilian team managed to keep Switzerland under tab after a very long struggle with a slim goal margin of 1-0 at the 43,649 capacity 974 Stadium in Doha.
But the goal did not come easy as the first half marred with a lot of rough play ended up nil nil.
Both teams came into the second half with a lot of trepidation until the 83rd minutes when Casemiro found the back of the Swiss net after connecting a well tailored pass from Rodrygo to put his side ahead with the winning 1-0 margin.
Ball possession was 59 -41 in favour of Brazil. Ironically, Brazil which carried the day made just two goal kicks against 10 by Switzerland.
Corner kicks was 8 against 3 in favour of Brazil, while Switzerland recorded the highest fouls, 17 against 10 by Switzerland.
