Peter Obi and Senator Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed are the best pair in Nigeria today in terms of qualification, energy, competence, etc. People have placed so much hope in Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed. So any other person saying anything different now is just making political statements

LAGOS, Nigeria – The very eloquent and exceptionally courageous Senatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh OFR in a recent appearance on the Channels Television’s interactive program: ‘Political Paradigm,’ made more in-depth revelations on present political byplay in Nigeria in view of the 2023 General Elections.

The well-informed political eidolon disputed the disinformation alleging that the Labour Party does not have the formidable political structure to win the 2023 Presidential Election stressing that ‘the voters have become the structure.’

He emphasized that the technological innovations introduced into the electoral system by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has significantly improved the efficiency and credibility of the process therefore maintained that ‘anyone hoping on party structure to manipulate the elections is not in tune with current realities’

ACCORDING TO SENATOR VICTOR UMEH:

“Peter Obi is the only person who has a vice presidential candidate/running mate who has balanced the needs of the Nigerian people in the Presidential Election: Senator Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed. Two of them are the best pair in Nigeria today in terms of qualification, energy, competence, etc. People have placed so much hope in Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed. So any other person saying anything different now is just making political statements.

“Peter Obi phenomenon in Nigeria has choked all those who claim they have political structures. The momentum of the ObIdient movement has puzzled the so-called political gladiators in Nigeria. “When people feel very strong that there should be balance in the things you do, you should not wish it away.”

ON THE POLITICAL TRACK RECORD OF MR PETER OBI, SENATOR UMEH CONTINUED:

“When Peter Obi came to Anambra state, Anambra was below the ground (bottomless pit), everything was wrong the way it is with Nigeria today. When he came, he asked a question: ‘are we cursed or are we the cause of our problems?’ that was his poser.

We moved around the state with this question of his and got the people convinced that he had something to offer and they voted for him, and he won (though the mandate was stolen but was recovered through the court). In the eight years he was Governor, he brought Anambra State out from the bottomless pit and put it on the national map of progress; he was able to turn things around.

ON HIS MISSION TO THE SENATE, HE POSITED THUS:

“If you go to the parliament and you can’t speak against injustice, what are you going there to do?

” The parliamentarians should focus on making laws that will lead to good governance of the Country—ensuring that there is balance; unity of the Country through our actions (the things we do and interventions we make).  This is an area where no body can challenge me among all my opponents. None of them can challenge me in terms of being able to stand up to speak to anybody.

” I was in the Senate for seventeen months and within that seventeen months, our people were exceedingly happy with the things I was able to do. In seventeen months, I was able to transparently attract Constituency projects worth 1.3billion naira to my Constituents; transparently!

” I don’t think that it is by wish that people will love you and vote for you, it is by their belief in what you can do. Which Senator in Nigeria will give seventy six (76)students university scholarships and one year after the scholarships were awarded, he could not go back to the Senate yet he sustained it till all of them graduated?

I did it. I gave them scholarships in 2018; in 2019, I didn’t win to go back, I transfered them to my Education Foundation and paid their fees until they all graduated. It shows commitment to purpose. It is not all-about politics!”
