LAGOS, Nigeria – Veteran columnist, Sam Omatsaye is known for stoking embers of fire. Recall his infamous writing on the late HID Awolowo, the Yeye Odua, revered as the modern mother of the Yorubas.

In his article titled, Awo Family Without An Awo, the columnist attempted to denigrate the revered Awo dynasty in his back page column  in the Nation of June 6, 2011, where in he noted that the wife and children of Awolowo were unworthy to be called heirs to the Awolowo dynasty.

This article forced the late HID Awolowo to issue a press statement on June 7, 2011 wherein she described Omatseye as an uninformed individual. She went on to state that Omatseye’s article was written in an uncouth and downright vile and violent language.

“Why should anyone take Omatseye serious even when he allowed himself to be used to destroy Obafemi Awolowo by those ACN politicians that were made relevant by the late Sage?”, she said.

But Sam Omatseye did not only hit the sage of the Yoruba race, he equally attacked PA Ayo Adebanjo, leader of the Pan-Yoruba Socio-cultural organization, Afenifere. He has become the attack dog that is unleashed anytime the interest of his paymaster is threatened.

In the piece on Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Sam Omatsaye  said, “He (Pa Adebanjo) was part of the unblushing train of Goodluck Jonathan. “He was in bed with the Otuoke chieftain who embarked on a dollar junket in the southwest to buy the Yourbas, including some of its royal fathers and its Pentecostal deviants. Adebanjo stood by this man who played out a drama of permissive morality”.

Ironically, Sam Omatsaye could not say same when his paymaster deployed Dollars, apportioning at least USD50,000 per delegate to emerge as the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Although, in his previous writings, the columnist met some brick walls, by way of regionders, this time he met an army of supporters that totally subdued himwhen he decided pick to extend his journalistic verbosity  to Peter Obi, the many who resonates among the masses, seen as an idol and the best in the race for the 2023 Presidential election. At least the only thing Sam Omatsaye got from this childish verbosity and invitation to anarchy was trending on Twitter for the first time albeit for very wrong reasons.

He was so subdued that he who started the fight with his Obi-truary article, albeit wishing Peter Obi and his supporters death though alive and kicking withdrew into his cocoon defensively, telling Nigerians that his life is at stake and begging Peter Obi to call his supporters, the ObIdient group to order and  he would be held responsible if anything should happen to him.

Abba, he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Omatsaye met a very stiff resistant, that he will never imagined in his life for venturing to hit the man the masses believe remains the messiah to take Nigeria from the precipice the APC seemed to destined Nigeria.

In the said article, Omatsaye attempted to lower the estimation of Peter Obi in the minds of the right thinking and downtrodden masses.

Here are few of the reactions he received before he retreated to avoid having his hands burnt.

“Mr. Peter Obi, call you supporters to order. They are calling and issuing death threats. If anything happens to me, you will be held responsible!!!!”, Sam Omatsaye said in his state of helplessness.

Investigative Journalist, Mr. David Hundeyin, who is behind the expose on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a former drug lord in the United states and the way his daughters are splashing millions of Dollars on mansions said.

“Sam Omatse-yamutu. Just returning the same energy as that stupid headline of yours. Maybe next time you will get over your midlife crisis, act your age and stop trying to sound like a 21 year-old Twitter edgelord when you’re actually a 61 year-old grandfather. Silly man”, he said.

Replying Sam Omatsaye, K Konnect, said:  “You called Mr Peter Obi supporter Obituary, don’t you know the meaning of obituary? You issued the death threat first, you are not getting more of it, you started crying. We see your own death threats to Mr Obi supporters but we can’t find their own death threat to you”, he  replied the columnist.

King Lupper said, “See the coward. He has been doing dirty for Tinibu from the inception of his career. He is a paid journalist from the Agbado company”.

Agbado Soldier said, “When you called Peter Obi supporters “obituary” you didn’t know that was a threat? Now they returned the threat and you started crying”, he said.

But Alpacino laughed it all: “ Haha I swear they are seeking for cheap attention.. They can’t even sell their candidate online. The only option they have is to buy people offline”, he said.

Ikechukwu wrote: “When you typed what you typed, you were sleep typing? you are too old to be playing the game this way, a man your age shouldn’t be so vile and amoral, Obi won’t call anyone to order, you are the one who ought to have a sober reflection, look at the mirror and call yourself”, he said.

Gabriel Akwaja said: You are the one that wrote your ‘obituary’, not Obi supporters. You saw the pit with both eyes and plunged in. How could you go so low? Did Reno coach you? At what cost? There are boundaries in public conduct, much more for a media man. You shattered all. Sad.

“Did you not ever think of life beyond Tinubu servitude? Politics of do-or-die,  sadly, resurfaced with Tinubu. And instead of you the fine writers to demur, you hug him with alacrity, damning the consequences or restraints of conscience. Now you don buy market. O.Y.O., ” he said.

Shesupe said, “He couldn’t see the pit actually cos he is blind. Bats can’t see anything, you don’t necessarily have to blame him. Awon afoju” she added to the long list of reactions.

As for Davina Algorithm, lets just spread the gospel of better Nigeria . “ I don’t mean to disrespect those who support other parties but to avoid unnecessary argument on this space, I just want to follow people with Like minds so pls if you’re OBIdient, let’s follow each other and spread the gospel of a better Nigeria”, she said.
