Richard A. Collodi Named Special Agent in Charge of the Seattle Field Office

WASHINGTON – Director of Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, Mr.  Christopher Wray has named Richard A. Collodi as the special agent in charge of the Seattle Field Office.

Mr. Collodi most recently served as an inspector in the Inspection Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He joined the FBI as a special agent in 2002 and was assigned to the Oklahoma City Field Office. He investigated violent crime, criminal enterprises, economic crimes, and counterterrorism and worked human intelligence matters. He also served on the SWAT team and deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 and 2012.

In 2014, Mr. Collodi was promoted to supervisory special agent and transferred to the Director’s Operations and Coordination Unit at FBI Headquarters. In that position, Mr. Collodi supported the director’s internal and external partnerships and the Director’s Office engagement with field offices and divisions located at Headquarters.

Mr. Collodi moved to Idaho in 2016 after he was promoted to supervisory senior resident agent of the Coeur D’Alene Resident Agency, a satellite office of the Salt Lake City Field Office. In Coeur D’Alene, Mr. Collodi supervised the FBI’s investigative efforts in North Idaho, including the North Idaho Violent Crime Task Force, the Idaho portion of the Inland Northwest Joint Terrorism Task Force, and Indian Country matters on three Native reservations.

In 2019, Mr. Collodi was appointed as assistant special agent in charge of the Salt Lake City Field Office over the Administrative and Intelligence Branch. He led intelligence, human intelligence, and crisis management programs—including the SWAT team, the Evidence Response Team, the Hazardous Evidence Response Team, and crisis negotiations—and numerous administrative programs.

Mr. Collodi was promoted to inspector in the Inspection Division at Headquarters in 2020. The division conducts internal investigations, reviews operational performance and how the FBI conducts investigations and other authorized activities, and conducts special inquiries.

Before he joined the FBI, Mr. Collodi was a police office in Boulder, Colorado. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota with majors in criminal justice and psychology.
