At dawn numberless truck drops over 50 unknown visitors along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway
LAGOS – Nigerians living in communities along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway were astounded early today when they spotted a massive truck dropping over 50 unknown visitors along the expressway as they approach Kara, a new settlement on the Lagos/ Ogun State border.
Our correspondent reported that many commuters initially thought that the massive truck was conveying cattles to the Lagos Abbatoir and Lairage on the Agege axis for slaughter but were surprised when human heads started popping out of the truck and disembarking like commandos immediately after passing some checkpoints mounted by RRS/OPMESA and other security outfits keeping watch on commuters, following reports of robbery along the road.
We observed that most of the over 50 people that disembarked from the truck were dressed like riffraffs, very unkept with handbags and with no visibly means of livelihood.
Besides, our correspondent observed that the truck conveying them had no plate number on the rear and on the front.
“What you see from the front is the colours of Nigeria – the green, white, green on the space reserved for vehicle plate number with N boldly written on the white colour. Besides, there is no other major sign of identification”, our reporter said.
In addition, we gathered that most of the occupants of the trucks could only speak Hausa Language but we could not ascertain where they were coming from.
Our reported noted that throughout the journey, until truck veered off into Ojodu through the popular Ogunnusi Road, no security outfit stopped the truck to check the content.
They drove all the way without vehicle plate number from the North crossing at least 5 states into Lagos without trouble with all the security outfits, FRSC, Police, Nigerian Customs, Soldiers and other special squads.
