LONDON, UK – The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is in a fix, not knowing the way out as a gale of resignation has continued to hit his cabinet.

The first top cabinet officers to throw in their resignation letters, were Health Secretary, Sajid Javid and Finance Minister, Rishi Sunak.

They threw in the trowels following public apology by Boris Johnson for appointing former Minister for Pastoral Care in his cabinet even when he knew he was unsuitable for the job. They said they have lost confidence in Boris Johnson.

The British PM is facing this public disgrace few weeks after narrowly surviving a vote of no confidence in parliament.

Besides the two men, others who served quit notice are Solicitor General Alex Chalk, Theodore Clarke, MP, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Kenya; Simon MacDonald, Permanet Under Secretary, Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

“This morning I have written to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards – because No 10 keep changing their story and are still not telling the truth’, Simon MacDonald said.
The Solicitor General said it was “with great sadness” he was quitting the post but added he could not “defend the indefensible”.

“The cumulative effect of the Owen Paterson debacle, Partygate and now the handling of the former deputy chief whip’s resignation, is that public confidence in the ability of Number 10 to uphold the standards of candour expected of a British government has irretrievably broken down. I regret that I share that judgement”, he said.

More resignations are expected to follow, showing near total collapse of the Boris Johnson regime, which has been dubbed as the worst in the history of the UK.
