MOSCOW – President Vladimir Putin of Russia today made a striking allusion to the war in Ukraine, which he described as special military operation, stressing that it means the beginning of radical breakdown of #US-style word order.
Putin, who spoke via his twitter handle, said that the West, referring to Northern Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) should have known that they would lose from the very beginning of what he termed #specialmilitaryoperation.
The operation, he said is the start of transition from liberal-globalist USegocentrism to a truly multipolar world based on international law, genuine sovereignty of nations and their will to live their historical destiny with their values and tradition to align cooperation via democracy, justice and equity.
“President #Putin: The West should have realised that they would lose from the very beginning of #Russia’s #specialmilitaryoperation, as it also means the beginning of radical breakdown of #US-style world order. 1/2
“It is the start of transition from liberal-globalist 🇺🇸egocentrism to truly #multipolar world based on intl law, genuine sovereignty of nations, their will to live their historical destiny with their values & traditions, to align cooperation via democracy, justice & equality”.
Putin spoke just as Russia made rapid advancement, winning more territories in the Donbas region in a war that has resulted in uncountable loss of properties and lives on both side, but with the heaviest toll on Ukraine.
After the initial excitement following withdrawals of major international companies from Russia, and blocking of major channels of international transactions, the economy of Russia seems to have withstood the storm, even with the sanctions that portend dooms day for Russia.
Although economic experts predict doom for Russia in the long run, but in the short run, the negative impact of the war has ricocheted globally, with the west in Putin’s remarks bearing the brunt of unprecedented inflation, social unrest and imminent recession in the US and others.
While the West, seems to be hell bent on defeating Russia on the battlefront, through its proxy, Volodymyrs Zelenskky, Russia on the other hand seems not bothered and is saying that what is taking place in Ukraine is nothing but a child’s play, with the innocent Ukrainian citizens at the receiving end.
Experts are saying that Zelenskky, the West and Putin must listen to words of wisdom from Recep Erdogan, the President of Turkey and put an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine and not by adding fuel to the fire through supply of arms.
