Anambra NYSC tasks Soludo as erosion threatens orientation camp

ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Coordinator of National Youths Service Corps NYSC, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma has lamented over erosion menace at the orientation camp. The coordinator appealed to the governor of the State Prof. Charles Soludo to urgently intervene and save the camp from being washed away by erosion.
“I wish to remind the governor of the need to address the ravaging erosion inside the orientation playground” she stated .
Iruma made the call on Tuesday at Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity permanent orientation camp Umuawulu /Mbaukwu Awka south of Anambra State during the swearing in ceremony of Batch “B”Stream 11 of Corps members deployed to the State .
” I wish to remind the governor of the need to address the menace caused by erosion inside the orientation playground. A cursory look around the camp reveals different portions already ravaged by the erosion and if not checked early, it might threaten the existing structures and destroy the beauty of this camp that has attracted many. We therefore passionately appeal to His Excellency to expedite action on the landscaping of the premises currently under serious threat of erosion” she added
She promised that the scheme would partner in augmenting the manpower resource needed in both Education and Health Sector of the state. She also expressed joy over the overwhelming hospitality of the people to corps members and staff.
The coordinator commended the governor for his continuous fatherly support to the scheme in the state. She disclosed that total number of 1301 corps members were deployed to Anambra , 677 females and 624 males.
According to the coordinator,all the corps members were tested and confirmed fit for the exercise. She added that they have equally been kitted and also accommodated in line with COVID-19 protocols and they are adjusting fast to the camp life. “It is our expectation that they will sustain the tempo” she stated.
