KANO, Nigeria – The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has warned Nigerians to Nigerians to prepare for the worst fuel crisis unless the Federal Government prevails on the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, (NMDPRA) to pay outstanding bridging claims amounting to over N500 billion to members.
IPMAN chairman, Kano State, Mr. Bashir Danmalam made the remarks at a press conference in Kano.
According to him, failure of the NMDPRA to pay the bridging claims otherwise known as Transportation claim had forced many of its members out of business, following their inability to transport fuel due to high cost of diesel.
He explained that nonpayment of the claims by NMDPRA for over eight months has crippled the business of many of their members as they could not transport the fuel even though it is available.
