Governors behind Tinubu’s presidential bid
LAGOS, Nigeria – Not less than twelve governors are behind the presidential bid of former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The twelve governors secured the Presidential form for former governor and would likely woo delegate in their states to enable their choice emerge as candidate of the party during the primaries.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the governors who bought the form are Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state and Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.
Others are Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State and Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa State.
“Just in: frontline @OfficialAPCNg presidential aspirant @officialABAT this afternoon submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to the @OfficialAPCNg officials at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. Former SGF, Babachir Lawal, accompanied by Gov @jidesanwoolu submitted on his behalf”, the CPS said before naming the governors.
