What’s more after Wimbledon champion Ash Barty retires from tennis
AUSTRALIA – The Australian World No 1 tennis star, Ash Barty has retired from lawn tennis, the game that has brought her so much fame.
The tennis star who drops the message via a recorded video on the social media said she has already informed her team, stressing that though it is a difficult decision, it is time to step aside.
Ash Barty shared the news in a recorded discussion with her good friend, Casey Dellacqua.
She said that she would always love the game of tennis but that it is time to focus on the second phase of her life which is family, and a good housewife.
She wants to be known as Ash Barty the person and not as Ash Barty the athlete. She promised to speak more about her retirement at a press conference during the week.
“Today is difficult and filled with emotion for me as I announce my retirement from tennis. I wasn’t sure how to share this news with you so I asked my good friend @caseydellacqua to help me.
“I am so thankful for everything this sport has given me and leave feeling proud and fulfilled. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, I’ll always be grateful for the lifelong memories that we created together”, she.
She said she has given her all to tennis and has nothing more to give hence the need to focus on something else based on her physical fitness.
The tennis star is stepping aside few months after the winning the Australian open. She also loves golf and cricket.
