We’ll address erosion menace at Anambra NYSC camp, Board chairman
ONITSHA, Anambra – Chairman, National Youths Services Corps (NYSC),Governing Board , Hajia Fatima Balla Abubakar has assured that the board would address the erosion menace at the Anambra state Orientation Camp , Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government.
She gave the assurance on Thursday while inspecting facilities at the state NYSC Orientation Camp. Balla Abubakar represented by one of the board members Hajia Binta Ma’azu said NYSC would always make sure that camps are safe for corps members and staff.
According to her, the state coordinator had earlier presented the challenges in the camp to them adding that the NYSC is concerned. She assured that the board would remedy the situation to avoid further decay of the beautiful edifice.
The board chairman ,also commended the Anambra state government for the massive infrastructure built for the scheme in the state.
“We are impressed with the massive facilities at the camp ” she said. She also urged corps members to avoid any act or behaviours capable of endangering their lives. Be obedient to the rules and regulations governing the camp. Don’t involve in any criminal act that will ruin your life and don’t travel out of the state without permission.
“Please , do everything possible to avoid any act that will affect your life and health ” she said. Speaking to our reporter ,the state Coordinator Mrs Yetunde Baberinwa said that erosion menace remains a serious threat to the camp.
She said the erosion menace was seriously affecting the beautiful edifice built by the state governments. She also disclosed that the scheme has problem of staff accommodations and urged the board to look into it .
