Soludo, IPOB head for collision over Monday sit at home order
AWKA, Anambra – Governor of Anambra State Prof. Charles Soludo has directed all civil servants and political office holders in the state to report to office on Mondays or face sanctions .
Soludo in a statement released by the state Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwebe said that the state has not declared Mondays work-free days in the state and that the directive is with immediate effect.
According to him, absence from duty on Monday of any other official working days without approval will be viewed as serious misconduct which will attract appropriate sanctions.
Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafara IPOB has declared every Monday in the South East as sit at home to pressurise for the actualisation of Biafara.
Following the declaration of the sit at home by IPOB ,civil servants , markets and shops owners absent themselves from work every Monday .
“Following the need to reposition the service for better performance and productivity , His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has directed that all the public servants should henceforth report at their place of work on Monday as they do other workdays.
Consequently, the absence from duty on Monday or any other official working days without approval will be viewed as serious misconduct which will attract appropriate sanctions.
This directive takes immediate effect. Political Office holders ,permanent Secretaries and all heads of none ministerial department are to disseminate the content of this circular to all public servant under their supervision and also monitor compliance ” he said .
