COVID19: Death toll now over 5.7 million globally
LAGOS, Nigeria – There are now 392, 564,625 confirmed cases of COVID19 pandemic worldwide, 5, 730, 732 patients have passed on, while 10, 042, 182,268 doses of COVID19 vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 76, 406, 161 all time cases, while 901,961 patients have passed on, followed by India, which documented 42, 080, 664 cases of COVID19 and 501, 114 deaths and Brazil, which has registered 26, 326,454 all time cases of the pandemic, while 631,265 patients are no more.
France is still the 4th country most hit by COVID19, reporting 20, 731, 601 all time cases, while 133, 372 patients have perished and the United Kingdom which has documented 17, 870, 379 total cases of the pandemic and 158,781 deaths and Russia, which has reported 12, 433,643 total cases of the pandemic, while 328, 014 lives have perished.
Turkey remains the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 12, 150, 567 all time infections, while 88, 533 patients have been killed by COVID19, followed by Italy, which had registered 11, 542,793 confirmed cases, while 148, 542 lives have perished and Germany reporting 10, 945, 461 total cases while 118, 681 lives have been wasted.
Spain has been pushed down to the 10th country most hit, reporting 10, 199,716 confirmed cases of COVID19, while 94, 040 patients have perished from the pandemic and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has reported 3, 622, 210 total cases, while 95, 817 patients are no more.
