ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari that he will contest for President in 2023.
Tinubu who spoke after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari said it has been his lifelong ambition to be President of Nigeria.
Ironically, Tinubu made the visit at a time that many were speculating that former President of Nigeria, Dr. Ebele Goodluck Jonathan is on the verge of defecting to APC in the quest to actualize his presidential ambition.
The former governor of Lagos State said that though he has told the President he is yet to tell Nigerians and that he is still consulting with various interests across the country.
He said that what he did in Lagos in his time as Governor, he has the capacity to do it in the entire country.
On Osinbajo’s potential ambition, the APC National Leader maintained that he would not discuss any individual.
