NIHOTOUR DG, Kangiwa, bags HATMAN’s fellowship
ABUJA, Nigeria – As the year 2021 winds to an end, the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) has found it worthy and befitting to bestow the Honorary Fellowship of the Association, FHATMAN on Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) at the headquarters of the Institute in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by NIHOTOUR”s Media & Public Relations Director, Mr. Ahmed Sule. Announcing the award of the fellowship on Kangiwa, National President of HATMAN, Mr. Aturu Samson, said the decision to bestow the DG with the Honorary Fellow of the Association was arrived at after taking into consideration the enormous contributions he is making in the hospitality and travel-tourism industry of the country.
Notably, Mr. Aturu said Kangiwa has brought his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the Institute he is heading, the NIHOTOUR by repositioning it for better performance in the delivery of capacity building and professional competence upgrade as well as quality service delivery in the industry.
First National Deputy President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Alhaji Badaki Aliyu who presented the HATMAN Fellowship Award Plaque to Kangiwa, said the hospitality and travel-tourism industry of Nigeria will continue to remember the good work Kangiwa has done for the industry since assumption of office as Director General of NIHOTOUR.
He called on him not to relent and never to be deterred in the discharge of his duties in the promotion of capacity building and professional upgrade of practitioners in the country’s hospitality and travel-tourism industry, noting that it is what the sector needs to achieve greater heights and position the industry for better economic growth of Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Kangiwa expressed his happiness and gratitude to the body for finding him worthy of the award, promising that this will spur him to do more in taking the hospitality and travel tourism industry of Nigeria to greater heights.
He then solicited for increased support and cooperation from key players and stakeholders in the industry, as according to him, without their support, collaboration and cooperation, he wouldn’t have achieved the much he has, let alone be recognized for the award of fellowship by HATMAN.
