Coronavirus: Nigeria reports 1547 new cases 8 deaths
LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 1547 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 237, 561.
But out of the 237, 561 cases, 212, 550 patients have been treated and discharged, while 3, 022 other patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 21, 989 active cases of Coronavirus, while 8 patients in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 1547 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; FCT -806, Lagos – 401, Borno – 166, Oyo – 78, Ogun – 47, Osun -30, Ekiti – 7, Katsina -7, Kano – 4, Jigawa – 1; 237, 561 confirmed; 212, 550 discharged; 3, 022 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now over 279, 941,788 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5, 399, 893 patients are no more, while 8,949,393,777 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States has reported 52,280, 510 confirmed cases, while 816, 610 patients are no more(191, 785 new and 165 deaths#), followed by India with 34,786,802 total infections, while 479,682 patients have been killed by the pandemic(6987 new and 162 deaths#) and Brazil, now reporting 22,243,266 confirmations and 618, 732 others could not make it alive(8643 new and 77 deaths#).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most afflicted with 11, 958, 928 confirmed cases of the pandemic and 148,324 deaths, followed by Russia with 10,213,265 reported cases of the pandemic and 298, 165 deaths(23, 543 new and 942 deaths#) and Turkey with 9, 309, 094 total cases of infections and 81, 576 death(40, 608 new and 318 deaths#).
France is still the 7th country most afflicted by Coronavirus, reporting 9, 220,540 all time infections, while 123, 627 patients could not make it alive(27, 697 new and 96 deaths#) and Germany, now reporting 7, 009,648 total cases and 110, 373 deaths(10, 545 new and 56 deaths#) and Iran with 6,184, 762 cases, while 131, 400 patients have passed on(1857 new and 52 deaths#).
Argentina remains the 10th most affected country, reporting 5, 460, 042 total cases of infections, while 117, 035 patients are no more(14,806 new and 27 deaths#) and South Africa with 3,413,540 total infections and 90, 814 deaths(5603 new and 41 deaths#).
