Her pitch was N12 million for 18 percent equity, but she wowed the investors, getting three among the whole to herself for 32 percent equity for N12 million. Paul and Dan were the only exceptions – They are not investing in the project which has the prospect of turning into a multi billion investment in a couple of years.
Presently, Alice Obodo makes 8 tables a month, due to scarcity of funds. She believes that with N12 million she will be able to make at least 20 tables per month. Last year, she made N6.5 million.
Giving a brief background to the Lions who were overwhelmed by her presentation and product, she related, she was into palm oil packaging, bringing them in drums from the village to Iddo market in Lagos for sell.
Speaking on her creativity, Alice Obodo said she grew up in Lagos and that her works which have now become the fancy of the world were inspired by divorce.
“ I went through a phase, divorce, it really shook me and it was all I needed to express myself and not feel depressed and this came up. Whenever I see something beautiful, it makes me happy”, she said.
The Smart Table has market price of N165,000 per unit. “You are investible person, if two have invested, I will be happy to join, and give a third of the money at 32 percent”, Adenike Ogunlesi announced.
