LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has announced 57 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 213, 589.

But out of the 213, 589 confirmed cases, 206, 518 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 974 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 4097 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 1 patient died in the last 24 hours.

“NCDC: 57 new cases of COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 30, Enugu -9, Rivers – 7, Kaduna – 3, Osun – 3, Abia -1, Bauchi -1, Kano -1, Ogun – 1, Plateau -1; 213, 589 confirmed; 206, 518 discharged, 2, 974 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 257,996,568 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5,156,024 patients have lost their lives while 7, 422,338,318 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 47,845, 010 confirmed cases and 771, 973 deaths(124, 308 new and 901 deaths#), followed by India, which has documented 34,518,901 all time cases, while 465, 911 patients are no more(4888 new and 249 deaths#) and Brazil which has documented 22, 017,276 all time cases, while 612, 659 lives have been taken by the Coronavirus pandemic(5126 new and 72 deaths#).

The United Kingdom remains the 4^th country afflicted by the virus, reporting 9, 941, 774 all time cases of Coronavirus pandemic and 144, 414 total deaths(44, 577 new and 45 deaths#), followed by Russia which has documented 9, 205,431 total cases, while 260,319 patients could not make it alive from the Coronavirus pandemic(34, 533 new and 1212 deaths#) and Turkey now reporting 8, 573,524 total cases, while 75, 042 patients have passed on.

France remains the 7^th country most afflicted with 7, 523,008 total cases and 119, 521 total deaths(5339 new and 97 deaths#), followed by Iran, which has reported 6, 082,865 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 129, 053 patients could not make alive(5427 new and 97 deaths#) and Argentina, which has documented 5, 315, 348 total infections from Coronavirus, while 116,377 patients have perished as a result of the pandemic(646 new and 3 deaths#).

Spain is the 10^th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 5, 096, 538 all time cases, while 87, 832 patients have given up the ghost(15, 875 new and 22 deaths#) and South Africa the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has documented 2, 930,174 total infections, while 89,584 patients have died from Coronavirus pandemic(312 new and 10 deaths#).
