Anambra 2021: Don’t drive in Anambra without up to date plate number , IGP tells motorists
ONITSHA, Anambra – In line with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali avowed commitment to rid the Nigerian society of insecurity and crime, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Echeng Echeng has charged vehicle owners in Anambra State to ensure that their vehicles have up to date plate number.
He also appealed to those either coming in or leaving the shores of the state to have update plate number. According to a statement issued by the zonal Police Public Relations officer PPRO and head of police media team for election duty Mrs. Nwode Nkiruka , the IGP said the check has become compulsory in order to monitor and check crime and insecurity in the state moreover as it concerns the November 6th, 2021 gubernatorial election in the state.
Nwode said that CP Echeng Eworo Echeng had directed that any vehicle that plies the state without plate number nor up-to-date plate number will be impounded and the law invoked upon the defaulter.
According to her, the CP had reiterated the command readiness to provide crime free and safe environment now and always.
In the same vein, the Commissioner of Police also reminded motorists – public and private users in Anambra State about the Inspector General of Police’s order on ban of vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses. She said the ban would be enforced in the State so as to check movements of people and goods in and out of the State, especially during this election.
“The Anambra State Police command is dedicated to providing security to the people of the State before, on and after the election.
